Slayer released its first live home video in 1985, dubbed Combat Tour: The Ultimate Revenge. The video featured live footage filmed at New York's Studio 54 club, on the band's 1984 tour with Venom and Exodus.
Witching Hour is taken from the Live Video EP from 1982. Countess Bathory is
from The 7th Date of Hell video from '84. An interview with Venom exclusive to
this release is included.

VENOM - Welcome To Hell (1981) UK

I Venom sono un gruppo heavy metal britannico appertenente alla fascia più estrema della NWOBHM che contribuì molto a dare le basi al metal estremo, del quale sono considerati i maggiori ispiratori. Assieme a Bathory, Celtic Frost e Mercyful Fate, fanno parte della cosiddetta "First Wave of Black Metal" (Prima Ondata Black Metal). La band nasce a Newcastle nel 1979 quando il chitarrista Jeff Dunn decide di riunire la sua vecchia band i Guillottine chiamando gli amici Dean Hewitt (basso) e Dave Rutherford (chitarra), a cui poi si aggiungono il cantante Clive Archer (voce) e Tony Bray (batteria) entrambi conosciuti a un concerto dei Judas Priest. Contemporaneamente Dunn decide di cambiare il nome della band in Venom (in inglese veleno) dal suo nome di battaglia nel gruppo di motociclisti di cui faceva parte. La band fu principalmente influenzata dalla musica di Black Sabbath, Motörhead, e Judas Priest, lo stile della band è quindi semplice, essenziale, speed e involontariamente "punkeggiante", ma anche molto pesante.
Alan Winston rimpiazzò Hewitt al basso e Conrad Lant sostituì Rutherford alla chitarra. A pochi giorni dal loro primo show Winston se ne andò. Dato che il gruppo non riuscì a trovare in tempo un sostituto, Lant abbandonò la seconda chitarra per dedicarsi al basso. I membri della band si diedero degli pseudonimi: Cronos (Conrad Lant, bassista), Mantas (Jeff Dunn, chitarrista) Jesus Christ (Clive Archer, cantante) e Abbadon (Tony Bray, batterista). Furono la prima band nella storia del metal e della musica in generale a scrivere testi esplicitamente blasfemi. Scrissero testi satanici perché il gruppo credeva che parlare di ragazze (come facevano i Def Leppard) e moto (come facevano i Saxon) fosse una cosa stupida. Il loro satanismo crasso, volgare e becero era più una divertente e gustosissima tattica per shockare critica che una professione di fede satanista.
"Welcome to Hell" è il debutto discografico della band inglese Black Metal Venom. Il disco è stato registrato nel 1980 ed è stato pubblicato nel 1981. Esso è considerato uno dei dischi più importanti che sancisce l'inizio del Black Metal, genere inventato dagli stessi Venom per differenziare la loro proposta musicale da quello che all'ora era solo Heavy Metal; inoltre i Mayhem (Norvegia), noto gruppo Black Metal ha tratto ispirazione per il suo nome dalla quarta traccia di questo album, "Mayhem with Mercy".

VENOM - Black Metal (1982) UK

"Black Metal" è il secondo album in studio della band inglese Black Metal Venom. Il disco è stato registrato e rilasciato nel 1982 ed è considerato, sia uno dei più importanti dei Venom (se non il più importante) ma anche l'album (assieme a Reign in Blood degli Slayer) che ha ispirato il movimento extreme metal degli anni successivi, gettando le basi per la nascita di nuovi generi musicali come il Thrash e il Death Metal.Con questo album assieme a "Welcome to Hell" i Venom mostrano al mondo Metal la loro proposta musicale che chiamarono Black Metal. Bands come Slayer, Bathory, Possessed, Sepultura e Sarcofago impararono da loro per evolvere il Black Metal grazie ad album quali "Hell Awaits", "Bathory", "The Return......", "Under the Sign of the Black Mark", "Seven Churches", "Morbid Visions" e "I.N.R.I.". Dopo fu la volta di grandissime bands quali Mayhem, Samael, Beherit, Mortuary Drape, Necromass, Emperor e Mysticum che grazie al loro genio compositivo fecero evolvere ancora di più questa testimonianza del Male in chiave Metal con capolavori e pietre miliari intitolati: "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas", "Worship Him", "Drawing Down the Moon", "All the Witches Dance", "Mysteria Mystica Zothyriana", "In the Nightside Eclipse" e "In the Streams of Inferno". La Sanctuary Records nel 2009 riedita una nuova Deluxe Edition con 11 bonus tracks rispetto all' originale dell' 82, 2 bonus rispetto all' edizione del 2002 e in più un DVD... una edizione veramente di lusso!
La copertina dell'album mostra il volto di un demone, ma se si guarda più attentamente si notano anche un pentacolo sulla fronte del demone, una croce rovesciata sul corno di sinistra e la scritta "666" su quello di destra.

"Possessed" è il quarto album registrato e rilasciato dalla band inglese Black Metal Venom, nel 1985,è l'ultimo e il più sottovalutato degli album del primo periodo musicale della band.Nello stile è un album più tecnico dei primi due e riprende quindi la strada iniziata dal disco precedente,ma è considerato come l'album più veloce registrato dai Venom.
La copertina dell'album ritrae in una foto in bianco e nero seppiata e sfuocata due bambini con in dosso una canottiera con l'immagine della copertina di Welcome to Hell,ma se si osseva sul collo del bambino di destra,a destra sotto il mento si può notare il marchio "666" un semi nascosto a causa delle tonalità della foto.I Venom hanno però dichiarato che non si tratta di un messaggio subliminale.
